The name in the language of the sandstalkers means cattle, yet they resemble elephants, although at full maturity they are only up to a human's chest. They grow fur to remain warm during the cold desert nights, yet during the day it sticks up to allow the breeze through. It is with Dikhuidige fur that sandstalkers create their blankets and tents, and their tusks grow back when cut off. Sandstalker weapons are made from the tusks of these beasts. Their daggers may compose of a piece of bone cut short and with the tusk placed at the end, and their spears a long piece of Dikhuidige bone with a piece of the tusk at the tip. They are also ridden as mounts, as they can run at a fast pace when called to, and the sounds they make are similar to that of our cattle. The average Dikhuidige can live for twenty years, and when they die the bones are used to create tools such as axes, daggers, spears and hammers. Dikhuidige live solely on cacti, of which Droi Grond has plenty, for Droi Grond's have no spines. Their tusks also have healing properties, naturally good for diseases, and are used by Sandstalkers to treat their wounded once they are powdered down. They can be weak to the were-disease, but explorers in Droi Grond depend on them for food and shelter, so thus they started bringing in wolfsbane necklaces (several wolfsbane flowers tied to a necklace) and putting these around the Dikhuidige necks to stop the transformation. Dikhuidige have also been found on Mayalyan deserts.
